The NASCAR Hall of Fame is undedr construction off SouthCollege Street, near the Charlottse Convention Center. Organizers will launch a sales campaign this including ticket andmembership sales, and will featurwe the marketing tagline “Where the race lives on.” The campaignn is being developed by Charlotte marketing communicationzs firm Wray Ward. “I am thrilled to announce that Charlotte will proudly welcome visitors to the NASCAR Hall of Fame with its grand openingv onMay 11, says Charlotte Mayor Pat McCrory.
“It is a testament to our strong history and an exciting glimpsre intoour region’s dynamic future to be able to announc this upcoming milestone date on our city’s 60th anniversary of its firsgt NASCAR race.” Charlotte hosted the first-ever NASCA “strictly stock” race — later called the Grand National and now the Sprinrt Cup series — on June 19, 1949. The NASCAf Hall of Fame broke grouneon Jan. 25.
