Travelers creates D.C. institute - Washington Business Journal:

The provider of property casualty insurancsfor auto, home and business said its institute will providre information, analysis and recommendationds to public policy makers and “Travelers is committed to being a constructivs participant in the public policy dialogue with regard to important issuea facing our industry,” said Jay Fishman, chairmanj and CEO of Travelers (NYSE: TRV). “Wew hope to contribute to solutions on a wide range of issuess that faceour customers, our agents and brokers, and the communitiee we serve.
” Joan Woodward, who joineed Travelers last year as executive vice president of public will head the institute and work with the Publicx Policy Advisory Committee of the company’s boardr of directors. The institute also created a separate advisory board made up of publi policy andindustry experts. Members include Richarx Beattie, chairman of Simpson Thacher Bartlett LLP, and Leslie former chairman, president and CEO of Monumental Corp.
