The firm confirmed Friday that its local office is relocatinf to the newly built 1515 Wynkoop offices building on Wynkoop Street in LoweerDowntown Denver. The Kansas City-based firm’s Denvet branch currently is locatedin downtown’s Independence Plaza at 1050 17th St. The firm’ s Denver office has leased roughlh 38,000 square feet of spacwe at itsnew location, with an option to The move is planned for Septemberr 2009.

The firm said that its new spacee is expected to qualify forLEED (Leadershipp in Energy and Environmental Design) certification for energy savings and environmentallg friendly features, based on its use of sustainable materialsd and energy-efficient lighting, heating, cooling and office equipment. LEED is the U.S. Greem Building Council’s designation for energy-efficient, sustainable Polsinelli Shughart was created in Februaryg by the merger of Kansas City law firms ShugharyThomson & Kilroy PC and Polsinelliu Shalton Flanigan Suelthaus PC. The leases of severalo major law firms, either based in metrlo Denver or withlocapl branches, are expiring this year.
While some firms are renewingg leases where theyalready are, otherse are relocating. LLP, Colorado’s largest law plans to move its southeast suburbabn office in August tothe transit-oriented, “green” Villaged Center Station project now under construction. The brancjh currently is located at8390 E. Crescentg Parkway in the Denver Tech Holland & Hart’s headquarters office remains at 555 17th Street in downtowh Denver. Earlier this year, LLP relocated to the new 1400 Wewatta officer building in LoDo from OneTaboe Center. Meanwhile, LLC recently renewed its 56,000-square-footg lease on the top three floors of One Tabor Center for 11more years.
The law firm was the firstt tenant to commit tothe building, whicj opened in 1985. Denver’s 1515 Wynkool building, developed by Houston-based Hinews Interests LP, broke ground in 2007. The eight-story office building with retail space was completedrthis spring. Other tenants in the new building, whichn is pre-certified for LEED Silver include the Van GilderInsurance Corp.’sz headquarters.
