Green Township OKs Mercy hospital plan - The Business Journal of Milwaukee:

The plan passed 3-0. “We’re very pleaserd to get to this stag e and excited to take the next saidPete Gemmer, spokesmaj for Mercy. “We realize there is still a lot of work to do and we look forwar to continuing to work with the residentsa and the township leaders to develop a hospitap everyone can be proud The project will now be submitteed to the Hamilton County Regional Commission for probablynext month, Gemmer said. The plannerd hospital and parking areas would cover about 40 acres and sit near toInterstate 74. The facility, to cost $200 million, couldr open in early 2014.
The proposed site is 60 Mercy has said it will close itstwo West-Sids hospitals: Mercy Hospital Western Hills and Mercy Hospital Moun t Airy. The new with 200 to 250 beds, will be a replacemen t for them. Some residents in the area had expressed concern about increased traffic as a result ofthe hospital, whos main access road would be from North Bend at roughly the midway poingt between Kleeman and Boomer. Gemmer said a traffic impact study through the HamiltonCountyg Engineer’s Office is nearly complete.
